Financial Services
We believe that Customer Engagement is the new Loyalty, and that this new paradigm needs new mechanics to engage with customers more effectively and efficiently. What retailers need are new and innovative ways to acquire customers and to understand more about them, without having to participate in or develop their own costly points based programmes. We have been working hard alongside our client, Visa Europe, on a Loyalty proposition that is delivering a unique way for banks and retailers to stimulate spend, provide relevant promotions and engage with customers. With the same client, we are developing the next generation of Insight products, leveraging Visa’s unique perspective on consumer spending habits to provide retailers with a real-life, data driven view of how their customers are shopping across the consumer landscape. Retail Banking
We’re very proud of the work we are doing with one of Australia’s largest retail banks, to use customer transaction data in an innovative way. Every quarter we take a confidential and anonymous sample of customers from their database of 10m, and take a deep look into their spending habits, to provide a very different view on the health of the economy. Not only has this meant that the bank can better understand their customers, but it has repositioned it as an organisation that has its finger firmly on the pulse of the Australian economy and its households – ahead of the game. Grocery
Back in 2007 we were asked by one of the UK’s biggest supermarket chains to segment their store estate so that they could have the evidence they needed to direct their ambitious growth plans for the next 10 years, particularly as they moved into uncharted geographical territories. We were just as excited as the client team in what we were able to find out about how their customers were shopping in each store – each week we would talk about the latest results and they would keep asking for more detail! And once we had delivered the segmentation and the insight in the form of an innovative desktop insight tool, the client was diving straight into the detail, working round the clock to produce their detailed store development plan. We work with a major international travel retailer, and over four years of highly collaborative work, can now deliver world class results from their retention campaigns. At the same time we are taking this insight back into the heart of the business and helping to drive better supplier relationships, property management, product development and brand development. Home Improvement
We have been working with one of Europe’s largest retailers to help them meet the challenges of becoming a truly customer-led business. This took us on a fascinating, yet challenging, voyage of discovery across their European base. We worked closely with them to unlock the power of their data, ultimately enabling them to better understand and engage with their customers across an ever increasing number of channels. We’ve developed new ways for our client to view and understand their customers. We’ve also ensured that this knowledge and insight can be landed in the business, thereby helping to resolve sales challenges and also enabling them to completely rethink their customer propositions for the future. Gaming And Leisure
One of the UK’s largest Leisure & Gaming businesses was facing a significant number of difficulties – the smoking ban, high levels of customer churn and stiff competition from the online gaming world had caused a number of their clubs to close. They were struggling to get under the skin of their customers, and lacked any real measurement of customer behaviour. This meant that they were spending a large amount of money sending a lot of direct mail, without any sort of view on success. As soon as we got our hands on their data and created some simple – but effective – customer segments, we were quickly able to see how our client could direct its marketing spend towards its most profitable customers. This allowed them to put in place strategies to reach those who were lapsing, with relevant and inspiring communications. We developed pen portraits of each of the customer segments – essentially putting a ‘face’ to their customers and bringing them to life. This meant that both the Corporate teams and the Club managers now had a single view of the customer base, and were able to measure how it changed.
Fashion Retailing
We are working with one of Asia’s leading Department Store brands. Deploying our Valve™ and C-DNA™ insight products to deploy rich customer profiles that drive their co-brand product, loyalty programme and in-store promotional strategy. This represents some ground breaking collaboration between retailer and financial services providers and promises to bring some new ideas to challenge the market. Watch this space!
